Ringo Starr And Barbara Bach - 2008 World Music Awards
The musical legend Ringo Starr and his wife Barbara Bach, walked the red carpet together at last weekend's hugely successful 2008 20th World Music Awards, that were held in Monte-Carlo, Monaco. Ringo Starr picked up the 2008 Diamond Award that was awarded to his band, the Beatles, by the World Music Awards for the group's unprecedented records sales, with more than 1 billion records, singles and EP albums sold to date. Ringo Starr was very gracious in his acceptance of the award on behalf of his other Beatles band mates - John Lennon, Paul McCartney and George Harrison. He gave a clear acknowledgment that he and the Beatles had done it all with 'a little help from their friends', and he was appreciative of the diversity of the musical talent that had performed at the awards themselves. Barbara Bach, Ringo's wife, is known for her acting performance in the James Bond film "The Spy Who Loved Me", and also more recently for her significant work in the organisation that she and Ringo have set-up to help others that is called the Lotus Foundation. |
