Technogym 'Spazio Forma' - Home Folding Running Machine

GAMBETTOLA, ITALY - Technogym, the international sports equipment maker founded in 1983 by Nerio Alessandri in Italy, has developed the 'Spazio Forma', the first professional folding running machine designed for the home. Technogym sports equipment is designed and manufactured in Italy and is used routinely by over 15 million customers. The company says its sports training equipment has been installed in over 50,000 fitness centres worldwide.

With more people allocating their income to home sports fitness equipment, Technogym has created the Spazio Forma home running machine, with the ability to fold away unobtrusively and fit in a compact space of one square metre (1.09 square yards). Its a fully functional professional running machine, built to last, and includes gas struts to help with folding away the running platform, and four wheels that allow the machine to be moved freely. For safety, a special smart fold key needs to be activated before the running platform can be raised.

The Technogym Spazio Forma running machine, using its incline motor, can raise to a tilt angle of as much as 12% and accomodates a top speed of 16 km/h (10 mph). In the program mode, it has a telemetry heart rate monitoring device that adjusts the tilt running angle automatically based upon the training setting (moderate to peak). With the heart rate monitor, Technogym says that the customer can determine the right level of setting appropriate to their own desired workout. The Spazio Forma home running machine's digital display indicates the distance, time, tilt angle, heart rate, speed, and calorie consumption to the user in real time.

For varied training, Technogym has designed in three different athletic programs (Pyramid, Cross, and Interval) with eight user-chosen difficulty levels available. The running platform is unique and designed to give the impression of running on grass, and it uses the Technogym Soft-Jump system that gives full shock absorber capability over the entire length of the running tread.
