Dame Shirley Bassey At The Monte-Carlo Rolex Masters Launch Party
MONTE-CARLO, MONACO - The international singing legend Shirley Bassey (DBE) joined the ATP Pro tennis players who were out last night at Zelos in the Grimaldi Forum for the Launch Party of the 2009 Monte-Carlo Rolex Masters in Monaco. Shirley Bassey was awarded the Dame Commander of the Order of the British Empire in 1999 by HM Queen Elizabeth II and she is well known for singing the theme songs for the James Bond movies "Goldfinger" (1964), "Diamonds Are Forever" (1971), and "Moonraker" (1979). In 2002, at The Queen's Golden Jubilee, she performed along with artists such as Rod Stewart, Paul McCartney, Elton John, Annie Lennox and Phil Collins, in "Party At The Palace", and sang a live rendition of "Goldfinger" along with a full accompanying orchestra that was absolutely superb in its musical delivery. In 2007, Shirley Bassey released her single "The Living Tree", a song which she especially loves to sing to her audiences. |
