HSH Prince Albert II With Andy Murray & Rafael Nadal
LE ROCHER, MONACO - HSH Prince Albert II of Monaco and the ATP No. 4 ranked tennis star Andy Murray (left) and the No.1 ranked Rafael Nadal (right) were photographed near the Palace in the Principality of Monaco for a publicity tennis match that took place between Nadal and Murray this afternoon. From April 11 though to April 19, the 2009 Monte-Carlo Rolex Masters 1000 is taking place in Monaco at the Monte-Carlo Country Club and incredibly, Rafael Nadal, who has won successively in Monaco for the last four years, will be battling to take a fifth win.
Today's publicity match between Nadal and Murray was a relaxed demonstration event on a specially prepared mini court and their skills were so evident in that they were able to leisurely volley the ball back and forth on such a small court in a controlled manner. Prince Albert himself is known for his own tennis skills and he has competed in a number of celebrity matches in the past, teaming up with the likes of the legends Yannick Noah and John McEnroe.
The event took place in the main historic stone courtyard in front of Monaco's Palace, which is situated in the old town of Monaco (Monaco Ville) and high above the Port in a sector known to the residents as 'Le Rocher' (The Rock).
