Angelina Jolie & Brad Pitt Bring Style To The Red Carpet
HOLLYWOOD, CALIFORNIA - The husband and wife professional acting duo of Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie graced the red carpet of the 81st Academy Awards last Sunday (February 22, 2009). Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie made history in both being nominated for a leading role Oscar in the same year as a husband and wife couple, and it is probably the first time that this has ever happened at the Academy Awards. Actor Brad Pitt was nominated for the Oscar category of Performance By An Actor In A Leading Role for his role in the movie "The Curious Case Of Benjamin Button" (Paramount and Warner Bros.). Angelina Jolie was nominated for an Oscar in the category of Performance By An Actress In A Leading Role for her performance in Changeling (Universal).
Both Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie work hard to raise the standard of acting and set the professionalism levels required of actors by showing a positive attitude on and off the set. Brad and Angelina refuse to be drawn into the reckless behaviour of some low-value under-funded media publications, and instead they move towards supporting those institutions better aligned with acting and give their strong support to noble causes. With the recovery of the Hollywood ethics and quality expectations now firmly in progress by the Academy of Motion Pictures Arts and Sciences, there will probably be a rejuvenation of the Hollywood, California studio sets and 'empty glam' will be replaced by higher standards of acting ability. This year's Oscars had strong creative leadership from the Academy which contributed to make the 81st Academy Awards a huge success.
There can only be one winner of an Oscar in each category each year, and for 2009 both Brad and Angelina had equal professional competition from other actresses and actors and unfortunately did not win. The Oscar for Best Actor was awarded to Sean Penn for his film "Milk", and the Oscar for Best Actress was awarded to Kate Winslet for her performance in "The Reader".
