Obama Inaugural Celebration - Beyoncé, Bono, Springsteen To Perform
The official Inauguration for President-Elect Barack Obama will be held in Washington, D.C. on Tuesday January 20, 2009. There are 240,000 people that have been issued official tickets to the Swearing In Ceremony and approximately 350,000 that have been issued tickets to view the parade. Prior to the official Swearing In Ceremony on January 20, President-Elect Barack Obama will have an all-star cast of musical performers perform a celebration concert for him on January 18, 2009 at the Lincoln Memorial in Washigton, D.C. The concert, titled "We Are One - The Obama Inaugural Celebration", is expected to draw as many as half a million people to the Lincoln Memorial to hear it live. Some of the stars who will perform at The Obama Inaugural Celebration are: Beyoncé Knowles, Bruce Springsteen, U2's Bono, Aretha Franklin, Sheryl Crow, Mary J. Blige, Stevie Wonder, John Mellencamp, James Taylor, Shakira, and Garth Brooks to name a few. The Inaugural Celebration will be shown live in the United States as free viewing on HBO. |
