From Mazda Press Release (October 2 2007)
Mazda announced yesterday that it will launch the Premacy Hydrogen RE Hybrid at the Tokyo Motorshow that runs from October 27 - November 11, 2007. The car uses a new R&D concept rotary engine that runs on either hydrogen or petrol (gasoline). The car will be a welcomed addition to the State of California which is rapidly installing a hydrogen infrastructure called the Hydrogen Highway (see the Goverment Category in this site). Mazda has taken its rotary engine concept to a new technical level by using the rotary motor to generate electricity that powers an electric motor propulsion system. Mazda has also been working for some time on the RX-8 Hydrogen sports car and visitors to the Tokyo Motorshow may have an opportunity to test drive this car when they are there. |
