Lumeneo Launches Its SMERA Electric Car
MONTE-CARLO, MONACO - Lumeneo brought their new SMERA electric car to the Top Marques Supercar Show in Monaco in April, and theirEarth's photographer captured this image of the SMERA at the show. The Lumeneo SMERA is a 2 passenger lithium-ion battery powered electric car in a 1+1 passenger cabin configuration (the passenger sits behind the driver). Its design concept is ideal for urban city commuting, as it is both light in weight and efficient with its electric power consumption.
The Lumeneo SMERA has a top speed of 130 km/h (81.3 mph) and it has a sports car pedigree, accelerating from 0 to 100 km/h (62.5 mph) in just 8.0 seconds. Built in France, the SMERA comes with an automatic tilting suspension that leans into the corners, up to a maximum of 25 degrees, to provide the optimum cornering inclination for a given speed. The SMERA is powered by two electric motors that are integrated using a coupler transmission and a digital controller. For redundancy, should the drivetrain have a technical problem, the SMERA is designed to run in a 'safe mode' on one electric motor to get you home.
The SMERA's two electric motors are brushless and are designed for a lifespan of 200,000 km (125,000 miles). The Lumeneo SMERA has a 10 kWh lithium battery that gives it a total maximum output power of 29.4 kW (40 hp). The SMERA has a range of 150 km (93.8 miles) on a full charge and can park in the tightest of spots with its 2.40 metre (7ft 10.5 in) overall length.
