Lewis Hamilton - Second Fastest In Monaco Practice Sessions
MONTE-CARLO, MONACO - theirEarth took this photo today of 2008 Formula 1 World Champion Lewis Hamilton as he ran past the FIA Motor Trailer on his way towards the pit garage for the second Monaco Grand Prix practice session. Lewis Hamilton in the Vodafone McLaren Mercedes (car #1) was second fastest overall today in the second practice session with a best recorded lap time of 1:15.445. The quickest today was Nico Rosberg in the Williams Toyota F1 car, with a slightly faster lap than Hamilton's of 1:15.243. In the morning practice session, Lewis was third fastest with a recorded time of 1:17.578. The lap times actually improved by an average 2 seconds per lap between the morning practice session and the afternoon practice session, which was attributed to the circuit's surface cleaning up after the rubber put down by the F1 cars, and slightly warmer track temperatures. In Monaco, Hamilton was all smiles today as he walked through the pit area and he stopped frequently to sign autographs, and pose for pictures with his fans. He said today that he thoroughly loves driving on the Monaco circuit and coming to the Principality is one of the things that keeps the dream alive for him of the magic of Formula 1. Hamilton says he loves the thrill of driving fast in Monte-Carlo and the pleasure of racing up the hill towards the Casino, and then in each turn applying the skill of negotiating the turns throughout the circuit, while at times shaving the barriers with the sides of tires. |
