Berlin Premiere Of The "Sex and the City" Movie - Germany
Updated: May 15, 2008
At the Berlin Premiere for the movie Sex and the City (May 15, 2008), the film's stars Kristin Davis, Sarah Jessica Parker, Cynthia Nixon, and Kim Catrall, along with the Sex and the City producers Michael Patrick King (centre) and John Melfi (far right) arrived in style to present their film. The quartet wore an entirely different fashion ensemble from their World Premiere that occured in London earlier in the week.
Kim Cattrall, who plays Samantha on Sex and the City, was interviewed at the 2008 Laureus World Sports Awards in St. Petersburg, Russia recently and there she delivered her humour and thoughts on her involvement with Mercedes-Benz as part of its integrated marketing campaign with the Sex and the City motion picture.
Catrall said that "there were so many photographers in Beverly Hills and there have been very many photographers in New York. When we were filming, I thought, there's all these photographers, I felt so proud and happy, but they weren't interested in me, they were interested in the new Mercedes ... trying to photograph the dashboard, which was completely new, so they would have the first photograph - so I was upstaged by the Mercedes car (laughing) - upstaged by a newer model (laughing)".
Mercedes-Benz worked with the producers and cast on Sex and the City, which is forecast to be the summer's hottest movie. The chance for Mercedes-Benz to undertake integrated marketing in the film of one of their upcoming new cars, the GLK, was as opportunity that they couldn't refuse. The Mercedes-Benz GLK was a prototype and it had never been seen before. Mercede-Benz shipped it under the tightest of security from Germany to Long Beach, California. It was locked away in a special tamper-proof container and only made visible to photographers once the Sex and the City movie scene was ready for filming.
