For Director James Cameron, "Avatar" has been a phenomenal success him, yet he is not a newcomer blockbuster success as he also directed the very successful motion picture "Titanic". Cameron started developing the concepts for "Avatar" as early as 1994, and he kept the project going in his mind until he could make the cinematography technical advances to bring his animated characters to the screen finally in late 2009. "Avatar" had its world premiere in London in the United Kingdom on December 10, 2010, and since then it has broken records around the world for box office attendance. "Avatar" has been filmed to be viewed in both 3-D and 2-D formats depending upon the theatre, and all the film distributed copies include advanced digital encryption technology to protect the creative copyright globally.
Starring in "Avatar" are Sam Worthington, Zoe Saldana, Sigourney Weaver, Michelle Rodriguez and Stephen Lang, and the movie depicts the year 2154 on the moon Pandora in the Alpha Centauri star system. Director James Cameron used a merging digital filming technique to integrate the actors bodies and facial expressions into the computer animated Na'vi humanoid characters that are transformed into on the screen as genetically grown avatars. The "Avatar" story line follows the integration of human controlled avatars who interact with the native ten-feet tall light-blue skinned  Na'vi species that inhabit the moon Pandora.
In total, the movie "Avatar" has been nominated for nine Oscars at this year's Academy Awards, and James Cameron has been nominated for the Oscar for Best Director for his work on the film.
