Alanis Morissette's Monte-Carlo Concert

Alanis Morissette, the Canadian born singer, songwriter, pianist, dancer and winner of six Grammy Awards, played to a sold-out Sporting Club in Monaco on August 8, 2008. The Monte-Carlo concert was part of her 2008 European Tour which will take her to perform in eight other European destinations in August, before she heads across the Atlantic to start her North American Tour. Alanis and her band delivered an excellent performance, singing some top hits like "Ironic" , "You Oughta Know", "Uninvited" and songs from her latest album like "Citizen Of The Planet".

Alanis wrote her first song when she was just 9 years old called "Fate Stay With Me". She grew up in Ottawa, Canada and signed her first record deal with MCA Records, under whose label she released her first album titled "Alanis" in 1991. This first album went platinum in Canada and launched her music career. "Too Hot" was her first single to reach the Top 20 on the Canadian Charts off this album. Her second album with MCA was titled "Now Is The Time".

In 1993, Alanis Morissette moved to Los Angeles to work with other writers and producers and signed a record deal with Maverick Records, releasing her third highly successful album "Jagged Little Pill." It was on this album that she had her break into the U.S. with the single "You Oughta Know", and then her biggest hit single titled "Ironic", which is as popular today as it was then. The "Jagged Little Pill" album won four Grammy Awards and sold 26 million records.

She composed and sang the song "Uninvited" for the soundtrack of the movie "City Of Angels" in 1998, and this song won her two Grammys at the 1999 Awards for Best Rock Song and Best Female Rock Vocal Performance. Morissette released her fourth album "Supposed Former Infatuation Junkie" in 1998, and then a live album titled "Alanis Unplugged" in 1999. In 2005, she released an acoustic version of "Jagged Little Pill" which sold a million copies internationally.

Alanis is continually experimenting with new sounds and singing styles in her music and ever searching for further artistic achievement which is attained at the different corners she turns. Her latest album, released in June 2008 is called "Flavour Of Engagement".
