Webber Takes Pole Position Driving His Red Bull Racing F1 Car
SPA FRANCORCHAMPS, BELGIUM - The Belgian Grand Prix will run tomorrow (Sunday) at 14:00 CET on the Spa-Francorchamps circuit. Mark Webber (Red Bull Racing) has pole position for tomorrow's race with his excellent time of 1m 45.778 seconds. Beside Webber on the front row is Lewis Hamilton (McLaren Mercedes), who managed a 1m 45.863 qualifying time today to take second. In third place was Robert Kubica in the Renault (1m 46.100) and in fourth was Sebastian Vettel (1m 46.127) driving the other Red Bull Racing car. A little about the circuit's statistics - the Lap record of Spa is held by Kimi Raikkonen in 2004, driving a Ferrari, with a lap time of 1m 45.108. Last year's race was also won by Kimi Raikkonen driving a Ferrari.
The photo shows seven-time world champion Michael Schumacher driving around the Spa circuit yesterday during the practice session. Schumacher says about Spa, "Spa has always been my favourite racetrack and so for that reason alone, I am really looking forward to going back and racing there... Our weekend will obviously be handicapped by my grid penalty (from the last race - an incident with Barrichello) and consequently it will be difficult to expect special things from the race. On the other hand, every racing kilometre is important and welcomed because we can learn from it with regards to our car. I will definitely try to make the best out of the weekend." Michael Schumacher managed an eleventh qualifying time today around Spa in his Mercedes Petronas car with a 1m 47.874 time.
