Suzuki 1.3 L Splash Delivers Very Good Fuel Efficiency
Suzuki brought their Splash car to the Paris Auto Show, called Paris Mondial De L'Automobile 2008, which ran from October 4-19, 2008 in France. A review of the Suzuki Splash's fuel efficiency has revealed some very good numbers. The Suzuki Splash has a 1.3 L 16-valve 4-cylinder petrol (gasoline) engine with an output power of 75 hp (55 kW) at 4000 rpm. The engine's peak torque is 190 Nm between 1750 to 2250 rpm.
The Suzuki Splash has a fuel consumption on the European combined urban/highway test of 4.5 L/100 km (52.3 U.S. MPG / 62.8 Imp MPG). The Spash's pure highway fuel efficiency is a very good 4.0 L/100 km (58.8 U.S. MPG / 70.6 Imp MPG) and in the pure city mode it is exceptional, delivering 5.5 L/100 km (42.8 U.S. MPG / 51.4 Imp MPG). The Splash has CO2 emissions which are 120 g/km, so not optimum in the 100 territory, but not too bad either.
Driving the Splash on the highway, you can easily keep up with traffic as the top speed is 165 km/h (101.3 mph). ABS (anti-lock brakes) are standard equipment as are front air bags for the driver and front seat passenger, along with lateral side head air bags for all passengers (front and rear). There are also ISO-FIX attachment points for child seats.
Standard convenience features are front electric windows, air conditioning, aluminium wheels, RDS radio with CD player (steering controls), tinted window glass, and electric side retractable door mirrors.
Suzuki lists the base price (cost) of the 1.3 L Splash as 13190.00 euros, and metallic paint is an optional accessory for an additional 360.00 euros, if desired.
