The Script - WMA Winners - Ireland's Best Selling Artists Award
The Irish band 'The Script' performed last Sunday evening at the 2008 World Music Awards, which were held this year in Monte-Carlo, Monaco. The band was also awarded a Best Selling Artists From Around The World Award for Irish record sales. 'The Script' released their first album in August 2008, titled "The Script", and they have had a huge initial success with two songs titled "The Man Who Can't Be Moved" and "We Cry".
During the World Music Awards ceremony, The Script gave a live performance of their song "The Man Who Can't Be Moved" (see photo), which sounds even more incredible when heard in person. It is expected that "The Man Who Can't Be Moved" will hit number one on the UK charts in a very short period of time and the band will do extremely well in 2009 as an international pop-rock success story.
The World Music Awards will be broadcast in 160 countries, and Channel 4 will broadcast the awards for the United Kingdom on the evening of Friday November 21, 2008. Channel 4 will also devote that weekend to behind the scenes coverage of the enormous content of the show and its Saturday night Pre-Party activities. For the United States television audience, MYNETWORK TV will first air the awards at 8 PM on December 2, 2008.
