2008 48th Monte-Carlo Television Festival Opening Ceremony

HSH Prince Albert II of Monaco welcomed members from the 'Days Of Our Lives', 'The Young and the Restless' and 'Bold and the Beautiful' casts to the Opening Ceremony of the 2008 48th Monte-Carlo Television Festival yesterday evening. There were a large number of U.S. television performers present for the Opening Ceremony and a much greater attendance is expected for the Awards Ceremony later in the week on Thursday June 12. Yesterday evening there was also an excellent Opening Film screening of the Russian motion picture 'The Father' at the Festival Ceremony, which is distributed by Mentor Cinema. The film follows the return of a Russian WWII officer to his family home after the war's end and covers the disruptions that have gone on to his family circle in his absence. The film was in Russian with subtitles and the cinematography and acting in the film were excellent.
